I am not exactly in the best of moods now, in fact, I could possibly be in one of my most anxious and annoyed moods since I return from the land of roos.
While I decided to settle myself down at Starbucks today to get some productive work going, I realised that my bloody Microsoft Word has encountered some problems and the works that I’ve done refuse to be saved and my past works cannot be opened as well.
Being the really studious and anxious student that I am, I decided to ring up Apple to see if they could provide me with any solutions. I was given the answer that they could not help me with anything as Word is an independent software that Apple has no control over and the lady over the phone gave me the number to Microsoft and I called them up.
When I got on the phone, I was greeted by someone who not only possess very lousy enunciation skills, but also very poor customer services skills. Her attitude over the phone was also very condescending. She could not understand what I was trying to put forth to her, neither could she provide me with answers that I am looking for. After multiple repeats and sniggles from my next-seat neighbour, she finally understood what I was trying to say and provided me with a solution.
Her: “I can only give you one package, that is the troubleshooting over the phone.”
Me: :”You mean there is no place where I can physically go to?”
Her: “No.”
Me: “Oh, ok, can I know more about this?”
Her: “It will cost you 40 Singapore dollars.”
Me: (In shock!) “What?! 40 bucks just for troubleshooting?”
Her: (Very curtly) “Yes.”
Me: (Obviously damn annoyed) “Fine, I will contact you guys if I need troubleshooting.”
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe such lousy services is still prevalent in such a big MNC, what is this world coming to?! We need better service skills for our service industry members, everywhere I go I get crap customer services. Seriously, I am this close to cursing.
And I am still irked that my Microsoft Word is not working. Bloody pissed.
It’s been more than a month since I last blogged, this just shows you how busy I am with Honors. Horrifying I tell ya. It’s been awhile since I last faced such heavy workload, probably at AnnAnn, if I had to compare.
Finally back in the land of Sillypore, where stifling air and yummy hawker foods exist; a good trade off I guess. Still waiting for the final approval for my ethics application to come in then I can finally start recruiting people for the focus groups.
I am still adjusting to the weather back here, shows you just how warm this land is, horrid.
I kinda miss eating steaks and baking in my awesome kitchen and having my own room and pool and living in such an atas neighbourhood. I guess it’s the freedom that I kinda miss, where I can really lead my own life, the life that I want with such freedom to do things that I truly desire, that lifestyle in Perth that will be really tough to have here. I miss being able to walk out and take less than 200 steps to get to the jetty to bring me to the city. Bahhhh.
But from now till I head back , I guess it is the friends that make me miss this land even more, albeit all the warm weather and plenty of inconsiderate locals (you won’t believe how annoying they can get!). I guess friends really do make up for most things!
